Five Things I wish my dying patients knew by Dr Jo Elverson.

1. Just because you’re dying you don’t stop being you.

2. Laugh and enjoy the small things.

3. Don’t feel you have to make everything ok for the people you love.

4. Who you are matters more than what you can or can’t do.

5. Accept offers of help and tell people what you really need.
